    Board of Trustees Recruitment Night

    Want to help make strategic decisions? Support the WMS mission? Maintain the financial health of the school? The Board of Trustees is seeking candidates to join in the important work of advancing WMS! We welcome families and members of the greater community who are willing to serve and dedicate their time.
    You are invited to learn more on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Bothell Campus. You'll meet current Trustees and hear about the functions and work of the Board, along with member expectations and responsibilities. Please contact COT@WMSboard.org with any questions or if you are interested but cannot attend the event.     Pajama & Donut Day: Annual Giving Campaign Celebration

    Students are welcome to come to school in their pajamas, and donuts will be provided during the school day. Options will be available for those with dietary restrictions. Please keep the weather in mind and send your student(s) with extra layers for recess or any outdoor activities.

    We are looking forward to welcoming students to our upcoming Friday, Jan. 16, Camp Day (Faculty In-Service Day, no school for all students)! Below are important details to help you prepare.
    Camp Hours & Arrival/Pick‑Up
    Camp will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Families may drop off and pick up at their convenience within these hours.
    Daily Structure
    Although this is a Camp Day, our schedule will still follow a classroom structure. This includes:
    • Class begins promptly at 9:00 a.m.
    • Classroom work time
    • Lunch
    • Recess
    • Nap/rest time (as appropriate by age level)
    Maintaining this routine helps ensure a smooth and engaging experience for all children.
    Limited Availability
    Spots are limited at both campuses. Please note the following:
    • Woodinville Campus - Early Childhood: Full
    • Toddler Program: Limited spots available
    • Bothell Campus - Early Childhood: Limited spots available
    • Elementary Program: Limited spots available
    If your child needs care, we encourage you to register as soon as possible on CampBrain.
    Registration Deadline
    Camp registration will close on Friday, Jan. 9, on CampBrain. After this date, we cannot accept additional registrations.

    WMS Night at the Everett Silvertips

    Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett
    WMS families, it's Silvertips Time! TWO games for our group to give everyone some options, they are both $18/seat (group rates are amazing for the 100 level). This is not a fundraiser, but simply a WMS community-building event.
     
    WMS has 75 tickets reserved per game:
    • Saturday, January 17, at 6:05 p.m. at Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett  
      • "Great Dog Race" activity during a hockey break, section 114-115
    • Saturday, March 14, at 6:05 p.m. at Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett  
      • Navy Night, section 101-102
    Purchase your WMS tickets here. Ticket sales follow arena policies. Seating is first-come, first-served, so if you’d like to sit together, purchase tickets as one group and arrange payment among yourselves.

    Supporting Your Child's Mental Health: a WMS Community Workshop

    Bothell Campus, Green Bldg. - Community Room
    Join WMS counselors Megan Wanless, MA, LMFT, and Emily Murray, LICSW, for an informative workshop on supporting mental health in children and adolescents. They’ll discuss the importance of mental well-being, warning signs to watch for, and local resources available to families. The session will include time for Q&A. To close the evening, WMS teacher Amy Fujimoto, M.Ed., will guide an expressive arts activity, highlighting how creative expression can positively support students’ mental health.
     
    When: Jan. 22, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
    Where: WMS Bothell Campus (In-person only)
    Cost: Free
    Audience: Targeted to parents/guardians of students in grades 3–12. All WMS families are invited to attend. 
     
     
    Please note: This is an event for adults only. Child care is not provided. The workshop will not be recorded or offered virtually.  
     
    About the Presenters
    Megan Wanless, MA, LMFT is a WMS Mental Health counselor. She graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Sociology and completed her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Antioch University. Outside of WMS she works in private practice with children, adolescents, and their families. 
     
    Emily Murray, LICSW is a WMS Mental Health counselor. She graduated from the University of Washington with a Masters in Social Work, and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.  Outside of WMS, she has her own private practice that focuses on therapy, grief and art. She is also developing a podcast for middle school parents called The Potted Peace Lily Podcast that addresses questions they have about parenting teenage children. In addition, Emily has an MFA from Columbia University and she loves teaching the high school psychology and theater classes at WMS. 
     
    Amy Fujimoto is a WMS Lower Elementary teacher with over 20 years of experience. She has a Master’s in Education and is passionate about using creativity in her work.  Amy has a Level 1 certificate in Expressive Arts Facilitation from the Northwest Creative and Expressive Arts Institute and is currently working towards a Level 2 certificate that will encompass 200 hours of training.

    Kids Night Out

    Kids Night Out: Jan. 23

    We hope everyone has been enjoying the winter weather! The middle schoolers are excited to
    announce that the next Kids Night Out will be happening on Friday, Jan. 23. The theme will be
    winter. We will provide fun, thematic activities and the choice of two movies for the attendees
    to watch: Small Foot or Cars. The prices for attending are $22 for a family’s first child, $15 for the
    second, and $9 for the third.
     
    This event will be held in Alder and Ginkgo classrooms on the second floor of the Green Building from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. We will provide snacks, and drinks, however pizza for dinner must be purchased when signing up. We have a limit of 55 attendees, so we apologize if the sign-up is full. The event is open to all WMS students in kindergarten to 6th Grade. If you would like to sign up, the sign-up is available on CampBrain. Thank you, and hope to see you there!
