Upper Elementary and Middle School Athletics program

WMS recreational no-cut team sports opportunities for boys and girls continue to grow.

This year, Ultimate Frisbee, offered for grades six through eight, competed in the Fall Seattle League. Fourth-through-ninth graders participated in the Northshore YMCA League for co-ed volleyball in the spring and fall.

Co-ed soccer for fourth-through-ninth grades practiced in the fall, and played with the YMCA this spring. We offer basketball in the winter.

WMS has a tradition of fielding winning orienteering teams that compete in local, regional and national championship meets. The Orienteering Team is open to grades one through 12. The team does not practice, but competes every other Saturday from November to spring in the Washington Interscholastic Orienteering League (WIOL). Cheri Sibthorp is the Orienteering coach.

We also offer an orienteering after-school elective for first-through-sixth-graders.
