This year Woodinville Montessori School celebrates its 29th year of educating children in the Montessori tradition. For many years, WMS has educated children as global citizens and life-long learners. As our alumni population grows, they testify to how a WMS experience makes a difference. Our graduates tell us: “It gave me a feeling that I am a part of something bigger than just myself,” “High school was easy for me” and“ I look at things from a different perspective than my peers.” This is a reflection of the heart of who our alumni have become as citizens. Another past student who is now off to graduate school shares, “Thank you again for all your support. I know that you all greatly contributed to my education and where I am today.”
To continue to provide this rich experience to all our students, we recently launched our 11th Annual Giving Program, an integral part of the success of WMS. Because its revenues are unrestricted, the Annual Giving Program monies provide WMS the flexibility to address current needs and seize future opportunities when they arise. Running through June 30, 2012, the program gives all families a chance to show their support of our school and its goals for your children.
As with all successful independent schools, WMS relies on its Annual Giving Program to enrich the experience of all students. Funds in past years have been used for many things, such as:
- Maintain the financial aid programs which support the school’s mission by making Montessori education available to a broad spectrum of families.
- Establish the toddler program to provide a nurturing place for young children ages 18 – 36 months
- Create the learning support center, dedicated space which serves all students and supports different learning styles and needs.
As in prior years, we have two goals for our Annual Giving Program:
- 100% participation among families, staff and the Board of Trustees. We understand that in this economic climate, resources may be limited, which is why we are grateful for any contribution you are able to make.
- A monetary goal of $110,000. Do remember that many companies will match your contribution 100%, which doubles your contribution to the school.
