Upper Elementary and Middle School Athletics program
In 2018-2019, WMS recreational no-cut team sports opportunities for boys and girls continue to grow.
Ultimate Frisbee, offered for grades six through eight, will compete in the Fall Seattle League.
This year, fourth-through-ninth graders are participating in the Northshore YMCA League for co-ed volleyball in the fall and spring.
Co-ed soccer for fourth-through-ninth grades will practice this fall, and play with the YMCA this spring. Fall scrimmages will be announced.
In our first and second years we played girls’ and boys’ basketball in the winter, and will announce basketball plans later in the fall.
WMS has a tradition of fielding winning orienteering teams that compete in local, regional and national championship meets. The Orienteering Team is open to grades one through 12. The team does not practice, but competes every other Saturday in the Washington Interscholastic Orienteering League (WIOL).
We also offer an orienteering after-school elective for first-through-sixth-graders.
For more information about orienteering at WMS, please contact Secondary Orienteering Coach Marissa Roecks.
