COMMITTEE

TASK

AUDIT COMMITTEE

  • Hires and consults with the independent auditor
  • Recommends the annual independent audit to the board for approval
  • Monitors the implementation of any recommendations on internal controls from the auditor’s management letter
  • Conduct annual due diligence and risk management inventory

COMMITTEE ON TRUSTEES

  • Cultivate and search for future board members
  • Maintain Board Profile and succession plan
  • Nominate new members, second terms, and officers
  • Oversee training for new board members as well as their continuing education
  • Oversee annual board evaluation
  • Make recommendations about committee membership and chairs to the Executive Committee and the President

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

  • Serves as the Board management unit
  • Reviews the strategic plan annually
  • Develop the annual Board agenda
  • Develop committee structure and functions
  • Select committee leadership, and, with that leadership, determine committee membership and oversee committees’ progress toward their agreed upon charges
  • Propose the Head’s compensation to be approved by the Board

FINANCE COMMITTEE

  • Assist in preparing the preliminary and final budgets and in their review before presentation to the board
  • Propose tuition and fee schedules
  • Oversee the financial functions of the corporation as assigned by the Board including investments
  • Create and maintain long term financial plan
  • Track financial stability markers

FUND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

  • Supervise all normal fund raising activities of the school
  • Plan additional events as necessary to fulfill the strategic plan
  • Set policies for receiving gifts and conducting fundraising
  • Plan the annual fund raiser and all capital campaigns
  • Actively cultivate and solicit major donors and train the board members in the art of donor solicitation

HEAD EVALUATION COMMITTEE

  • Conduct annual performance review
  • Submit report to the Board
