Woodinville Montessori School is proud to be fully accredited by two external organizations - the American Montessori Society (AMS) and the Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools (PNAIS). These agencies establish and oversee standards of excellence for Montessori and independent schools. Accreditation is a voluntary process that is undertaken by schools that are committed to continuous school improvement and compliance with AMS and PNAIS standards.
There are many levels of involvement with AMS and PNAIS including full, associate, initiate, affiliate, et al but unless the school is fully accredited there is no guarantee that the school practices the authentic educational philosophy and practices of Maria Montessori, nor that it demonstrates compliance with the rigorous standards that have been established by AMS and PNAIS.
Woodinville Montessori School has been jointly accredited by AMS and PNAIS since spring of 2006. WMS is also the only school in the Northwest accredited through 9th grade by both AMS and PNAIS.
